The Reel Scene Study Class is just what it sounds like--actor training and rehearsal of awesome original partner scenes, followed by professional filming and editing of your scene for your acting reel (and to upload to Actor's Access as a performance clip!!) Scenes will be filmed using state of the art equipment by Katharsis' own professional film crew.
This will be 8 hours (broken down into weekly sessions) of hands on actor training in technique and theory as you rehearse through original partner scenes to have professionally filmed for your acting reel.
Classes are organized by age group and there is also a MIXED age group option for those actors that want to portray scenes that require an adult and child such as parent/child, or student/teacher, etc or for those who prefer to attend class together as a family. **Minors MUST be accompanied by a parent for the mixed age level classes**.
Classes include 8 hours of classroom training and rehearsal (broken down into weekly sessions) followed by a 2 hour on-location film slot (scheduled by you and your scene partner and based on desired location availability). Scenes will be included in our Spring 2022 Showcase event on May 21 where we invite industry professionals to come out and see the talent we have at Katharsis!

Scenes will be edited and delivered via google drive within 1 week of the film date. Scenes will also be included in the 2022 Spring Showcase event on May 21, 2022.
What to expect out of class?
Week 1: Meet everyone and get to know your abilities--prepare to do some cold reads and play some acting games. This is also a time where we will discuss what you're looking to highlight in your scene. Drama or comedy?
Week 2: Get scripts and start rehearsing! You can expect a quick table read, some basic tips on how to analyze character and script, and then live rehearsal.
Week 3: OFF BOOK rehearsal with filmed director notes/adjustments. Scheduling film dates and times for on-location filming.
Week 4: Dress Rehearsal and final notes / adjustments. Be sure to come / bring wardrobe options and any props you intend to use on the actual film day.
