Lights, camera, action! It's time to call action on your dreams.
Ask anyone around the New Mexico Film Industry and they will tell you that Katharsis Media's training programs are the best around. That's because we aren't a film school--we are a working studio that produces several television shows every year. Our intership programs combine classroom training with live set experience, IMDb credit, and incredible networking opportunities.
For far less than the costs of traditional film school, you will leave Katharsis Media as a trained professional with a robust IMDb resume and the right connections to be successful in this industry.
We only take on a handful of interns each semester to ensure that every intern gets to work side by side one of our professional crew members. There's no watching, only DOING.
All interns gather for class on the 1st-3rd Saturdays of each month from 9-11am. Interns also focus on a specific project. Each project has different on set hours and different intern opportunties. Here are the projects currently open for internships:
The Neu Agenda--in-studio production
This weekly talk show is filmed at Studio 519 and is a great introduction to studio film work. It is our smallest production, but a great place to get started.
In studio: Mondays, 5:30-8:30pm
On location: 3-4 hours per week (flexible schedule)

Kids Teach the World--scripted, in studio
This is a new, limited series we are producing for public access. The show stars 9 kids (age 8-12) who teach about wacky topics and always ends with some variation of a classic SLIME challenge. The scripted nature lends itself well to learning about production while also having more opportunities for creativity than The Neu Agenda.
In studio: Saturdays 11am-2pm
On Location: 2-3 hours per week (flexible schedule)

AD department (1)
Broadway Bound LIVE--in-studio & unscripted production
This is our largest production and the one with the most opportunity for creativity and the need to be able to think on your feet. Part scripted, part live, sometimes in studio and sometimes on location, this production will give you experience in most aspects of working in film.
In Studio: Thursdays, 3-5:30pm
On Location: Friday or Saturday evening twice a month, plus 2 hours per week (flexible schedule)

$300 up front or 4 monthly payments of $85
Per CDC and Local Government Agencies, all interns and staff are required to wear masks when not on camera. COVID guidelines subject to change.
