The Actors' Clubs are a different approach to typical training for actors. Rather than topical based and leveled according to ability, these clubs are for working actors who are serious about their careers, and need a steady time to set aside for training.

Because we work with career-bound actors, The Actor's Clubs also provide much needed on the job training. This means that every student in our Clubs also are given a (small) role in our production of "The Green Room", which is a made for television series that we are producing to air on Comcast 27. They may be the school bully in episode 1 or a featured actor in episode 5--but they will have at least 5 lines and appear on screen in the final cutting.

NOTE: Regular and recurring roles require an outside audition and larger commitement.

The clubs focus on actual scenes to be included in current projects, specific skills that the actors need growth in, and intentional study of various techniques from "The 5 Greats"--Chubbuck, Adler, Hagen, Meisner, & Stanislavski. These "theory classes" will be the third week of every month so that we can be intentional about digging into new techniques, but also focus a majority of our time working on scenes and application of the techniques. These clubs are ongoing and we ask that students begin with a 2 month commitment so that we do not have "drop ins". Students who have completed Acting for the Camera 1 and 2 may join at the start of any of the "upcoming sessions" listed above.

Here are a few things to note as we begin a new way of journeying together:

1. This is a WORKING ACTORS group. That means that it is intended for actors who are serious about pursuing acting as a career, not as a hobby.

  • As working actors, we need regular, ongoing, consistent training. That is easier accomplished if we just have a set date and time each week where we always know training is ongoing.
  • This allows us to work with actors of different abilities, which hones our skills and allows us to produce better quality productions.

2. Our goal during class is to work on an actual project, not just mock audition tapes or scenes for a reel. We will be using original scripts for scenes written specifically for the actors in each section. This means that ALL students are required to sign a Non Disclosure agreement and cannot discuss the project until we release it. It also means attendance at training is absolutely necessary. Some weeks are rehearsals for specific scenes and only actors in those scenes are called. Other weeks, we are working as a team on a skill needed for the show. Please pay close attention to the scene schedule during episode-focused sessions.

3. Students have access to Candice during the week, for coaching, help with self-tapes, auditions, working on resumes, etc.

4. Tuition is $85/month and is due on the LAST Monday of each month and covers the month in advance.

One thing you can ALWAYS expect from Candice:
"I expect your BEST. Please prepare. I can only coach from what you bring me. If you do not bring me your BEST, then I cannot make you BETTER. If you want to truly grow, you must begin by doing the work that you are able to do without me, and then I will help you cross the threshold into growth."
